How do I build a cat run?Updated 5 months ago

The first step to building a cat run is to find the right area on your property to begin your build. Once you’ve determined the ideal place to set up the cat run, you need to get the measurements for the area to help determine the size of cat netting you’ll need as well as the required fittings to secure the cat netting.

Plan out your fitments on paper so you have a diagram to check against as you build the enclosure and to help you work out what’s needed before you place your order.

When you’ve finished planning and have sourced the required materials you can begin installation.

The typical build order for most runs is:

  • Drill in your fitments and tension your wire rope according to your plan.
  • Secure your netting to one side of the wire system using c shaped netclips and pull it tight, trim off any excess netting, then secure the rest of the net to the wire rope.
  • Check the area for any loose parts in the netting or gaps between the netting and your property.
